Lamborghini Huracán Welcomes Rear-Wheel Drive Spyder Convertible

The Lamborghini Huracán Spyder is now available in rear-wheel drive.  Like the rest of the Huracán family, the rear-wheel Spyder convertible is a nimble contender, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds.  Its aspirated V10 5.2 l engine produces 580 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of torque to reach a top speed of 198 mph.  The Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) seven-speed dual clutch includes ‘launch control’ for maximum acceleration from a standing start as exclusively developed Pirelli PZero tires grip the ground.  Double wishbone suspension and hybrid aluminum and carbon fiber chassis power management system provide maximum agility while a 60% rear weight distribution reduces inertia.

Prowess aside, the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder looks phenomenal!  Beautifully designed, Spyder-specific features such as the soft-top roof and 19” Kari rims exemplifies the spirit of speed.  Rear fins blend into a low roof and continue to the slatted hood, creating a singular silhouette.  Inside, the steering wheel features an ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management) button that allowed driver to select different driving modes: STRADA for daily use, SPORT for sporty driving fun, and CORSA for maximum track-oriented performance.

“The rear-wheel drive Spyder enlarges the Huracán family’s core product range,” says Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stefano Domenicali. “It offers the lifestyle appeal of open-air motoring with the pure thrill of rear-wheel drive engineering. This is a Lamborghini for those with a passion for life and the purest driving experience on the open road. It’s also a Huracán for those entering the Lamborghini family, wanting a true Spyder experience without compromising on the performance and dynamic handling of a rear-wheel-drive car.”
