Mercedes’ Tech-Savvy E-Class Coupe

Plan on seeing the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe this upcoming spring.  Mercedes-Benz released the details pertaining to their new E-Class Coupe and of course it is luxurious, but can we talk about the technology for a second?

Using technology to enhance function, high-resolution LED Intelligent Light System with 72 individually activated high-performance LEDs adorn either side of the 2018 E-Class Coupe’s diamond-block grille.  Each LED automatically activates and deactivates the high beams to illuminate curved roads.  Plus, the tail lights feature crystal optics, giving them a brilliant stardust appearance akin to the glow of a jet engine.

For added ambiance, the interior lights come in up to 64 colors and make use of the energy-saving LED technology.  Its steering wheel features touch control buttons, allowing the driver to control the instrument cluster and multimedia system with a swipe of the finger.  The center console features additional controls and a touchpad that recognizes voice commands and handwriting.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe effortlessly combines technology with luxury, but this coupe isn’t all bark and no bite.  It can reach a top speed of 130 mph and go from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds thanks to the 3.0L V6 biturbo engine, which produces 329 hp and 354 lb.-ft. of torque.  Drivers will also enjoy more liberty when it comes to shifting gears.  The 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission allows driver to perform fast gearshifts at lower engine speeds.  Finally, the Drive Pilot system is the technological cherry-on-top, keeping the coupe at the appropriate distance behind vehicles in front on various road types, and for the first time it can also automatically follow them at a speed of up to 130 mph!
