Cadillac Announces CT6 Plug-In Hybrid For Spring 2017
Cadillac is getting onboard the hybrid trend with their new CT6 Plug-In Hybrid sedan. The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid will go on sale in the spring of 2017 and features a combined driving range of 400+ miles, rear-wheel drive, and an estimated 65 MPGe fuel economy.
The CT6 features a 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder gas engine and two electric variable transmission (EVT) motors to produce a combined 335 hp and 432 lb-ft of torque, allowing the CT6 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 mph. Broken down, each electric motor produces 100 hp, has a driving range of 30 miles, and reached a top speed of 78 mph. Inside, drivers will enjoy the rear seat infotainment system, night vision, and a rear camera mirror.
“The CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, and by far the lightest car in its class, making it an ideal platform for electrification,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury. The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration, and strong electric-driving range.”
