Earlier this year Bentley Motors flaunted the “Sporting Side of Luxury” when they introduced their newest range model the Flying Spur V8 S at the Geneva Motor Show. Now, for the first time in the United States, Bentley aficionados will have the opportunity to see the Flying Spur V8 S in-person at the Monterey Auto Week. Designed to emulate a first-class flight on land, the Flying Spur V8 S expertly blends the refined luxury you would expect from a Bentley with advanced sporting capabilities.
The Flying Spur V8 S’s powerful and elegant exterior exhibits Bentley’s classic power line, muscular haunches, Bi-Xenon headlights, and twin figure eight tailpipes. Underneath its crisply defined hood purrs a lightweight, 4.0 liter twin turbo-charged V8 engine, capable of producing 521 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. The Flying Spur V8 S can go from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the V8, and reaches a top speed of 190mph. Advanced engine technology such as “high pressure direct injection, low friction bearings, advanced thermal management, energy recuperation, and innovative turbocharger packaging” ensure maximum efficiency while revisions to the engine and transmission calibrations produce a sharper throttle response.
True to the Bentley name, the Flying Spur V8 S interior features straight-fluted, premium leather, sport-style seats in 17 colors, a hand-stitched sports steering wheel, a wide variety of veneers, including their newest color “Dark Stained Madrona”, Naim™ for Bentley audio system, and luxury chrome details. Enhanced technology includes a duel touch screen Infotainment system, Touch Screen Remote, an integrated audio, telephone, navigation system, and ride and comfort settings. Rear passengers can also enjoy individually mounted LCD screens with their own DVD player and 64GB of media storage; each media center includes two SD card slots, two USB inputs, and two HDMI cable inputs, plus two pairs of Bentley wireless headphones.
